I always ask for love stories before I photograph my couples. I do this because it really helps me plan out their engagement session to create the story I want to tell. Megan and Danny had the sweetest engagement story.
“He wrapped me up in a blanket and led me across the road to the beach. We followed a trail of rose petals to a blanket that was laid out with pillows and a table that had a book on it. We sat down together and he had me read the book that he made for me which listed reasons why he loves me. At the end of the book a little cartoon Danny was proposing to cartoon Megan “I can think of a hundred reasons why I love you – will you marry me?”
I did their engagement session at Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver on a what was suppose to be an overcast day which turned into a torrential downpour by the end of the session. I loved how these two just embraced the elements with their pup Togi and the session went on. Together we created some beautiful moments that they will now cherish forever. My favourite is probably the image of the two them wrapped up in the blanket – just like their engagement!
